The game will have a zoomable map to showcase the multiple fronts of World War I, with campaigns to allow players to play short or long games. The options system from the Panzer Corps series will be brought in to allow players to customize their gameplay style, from mouse clicks to unit counters.

Commander: The Great War will still retain part of its old roots, such as the research points, bombard cities to affect production points from artillery trains and zepplins. National morale will also have an effect in the strategy, affecting recruitment and even leading to revolution within the nation.

With diplomacy in Commander: The Great War, events will not always happen on its historical date. The Lordz Games Studio also announced that an expansion is also in the works to include the possibility of the war going past 1918.

Commander: The Great War will not allow players to invade North America, but if player demand is high enough, the Lordz Games Studio will consider it.

Pandora will be a 4X strategy game (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate) in the same vein of Alpha Centauri.

The team will definitely be preserving the essence and atmosphere of the Close Combat series, we believe that moving it to the Unity engine will definitely help make it more current and also help greatly in addressing LOS and LOF issues from the "flat" graphical view of the classic series. Panthers in the Fog will be a well-done game in that more features and graphical fidelity has been added.

In Pandora: First Contact, players will have maintain resources such as food, minerals, production, monitor pollution, research and colonist morale.

Economic victory can be achieved with high enough credits to buy out other factions on the colony.

Indeed, what of Legends of War? Wasn't that showcased yesterday but no mention about it.

And what is the unity update for FoG? I play that occasionally so would be interested to know.

No mention yet of what is happening with CoH and potential follow-ons Sorm of Steel etc.

Wodin, if you are holding your breath for advanced/realistic WW2 tactical, I think it is safe to release it now. Not going to happen here or anywhere else in the forseeable future IMO. These days, if it can't go 'Mobile' it isn't getting made.

It does not meant that it will be completely new game. They might just change the technology, not the view, gameplay etc. 2D games are much more time consuming in terms of creating assets and adjustment to the modern displays.

We destroyed the wifi here in the hotel, so we are back briefly as the press event winds down. Here is a huge information dump on Pandora: First Contact!

Pandora will have multiple stackable unit types, taking into account for power, movement points, light and heavy and armored units. Unit classes range from troopers to all-terrain vehicles, tanks, watercrafts, aircrafts, and mech units. There are three tiers per unit class, one for each era.

Fog of War has an effect, with players being able to utilize mountains and forests to screen units for surprise attacks. This can only work outside of a city's influence range to prevent cheap tactics and to facilitate more in-depth strategies.

There are also a variety of weapon classes, from machine to gatling guns, sniper rifles, flame and gas throwers, missile launchers, and like unit classes, has three tiers per weapon class. They can also be effective against certain types of units.

Military Operations are produced in cities, which lead to satellite reconnaissance, drop pods, nano repair bots, nuclear missiles. These can be deployed anywhere on the battlefield.

Single and multiplayer are supported, with simultaneous turns. It will release for Windows, Mac, and Linux in the Q3 2012.
