A further flurry of activity I'm pleased to say! So how does this affect the scoring:

Group 1

Bismarck (7) Orm, fodder, MAurelius, Empire101, parusski, bradfordkay, th1207
HMS King George V (5) warspite1, redcoat, british exil, sprior, jeffK
Vittorio Veneto (5) Chickenboy, cohimbra, borner, oldman45, geofflambert

Group 2

USS Iowa (8) warspite1, Orm, parusski, Chickenboy, MAurelius, british exil, JeffK, geofflambert
Yamato (7) fodder, cohimbra, Empire101, borner, bradfordkay, th1207, oldman45
Richelieu (2) redcoat, sprior

Well, Bismarck seems to have pulled out a healthy lead, but its as tight as a {insert description of the Straits of Gibraltar in Das Boot} in Group 2

Mmmmm Twiglets.

If I'd have been the Capain, I would keel hauled him too, 40 lashes too. Then sent him with a row boat back to Australia to get some Twiglets. How can you sail into war with no Twiglets on board?

If you let crew members think that such important things, such as not stocking up on twiglets, will go unpunished, then mutany is not far off.

Mat
warspite1

Quite. Read the real reason for the Invergordon Mutiny. A cut in pay? Cobblers - it was a cessation of Twiglet ration that did it. Shocking decision

Honestly, this competition is less interesting than the last one. Also as I am a "landratte", I don´t have a clue to where or what I have to look for to judge my vote. Anyway here it is:
Bismarck
Yamato

Note: Dear Warspite, you can anytime disqualify my vote, as it lacks any kind of "expertism", and you also may not be pleased by it.
warspite1

th1207. I am not pleased and I would like to disqualify your vote for the simple reason you didn't vote for KGV . However, the voting here at ABHQ is sacrosanct - once you have placed your vote, it counts.

Thanks for continuing to support the thread despite not being a navy buff

Add one for Vittorio Veneto in Group 1.

I'll waste my vote on Richelieu on Group 2. The other two are big and bad, but they are not babes...

Thank you for your vote Jimm. Sadly in Group 2 Jimm has gone for the Liberal Democrat vote i.e. a complete waste of time , but, having added his weight to Vittorio Veneto, we now have the potential for a real upset in Group 1

Group 1

Bismarck (7) Orm, fodder, MAurelius, Empire101, parusski, bradfordkay, th1207
Vittorio Veneto (6) Chickenboy, cohimbra, borner, oldman45, geofflambert, Jimm
HMS King George V (5) warspite1, redcoat, british exil, sprior, jeffK

Group 2

USS Iowa (8) warspite1, Orm, parusski, Chickenboy, MAurelius, british exil, JeffK, geofflambert
Yamato (7) fodder, cohimbra, Empire101, borner, bradfordkay, th1207, oldman45
Richelieu (3) redcoat, sprior, Jimm

Ahh hello there. Welcome to the forum - always good to see a new face. It is especially gratifying when I am introduced to a Mexican speaker, for I am learning said language. So if I have you right, you are saying:

Mr: I would like to cast my votes in this wonderful competition. I would very much like to vote for the beautiful HMS King George V. So please register my vote forthwith my good man.

Well, sadly no votes for a while now - a few peeps have voted on other threads, despite their vote not counting elsewhere, and for reasons known only to themselves refuse to come to the GD forum. That's erm...disappointing, but there you go

So at the half-way mark it looks at the moment as though the final will pit Iowa vs Bismarck in the most beautiful fast battleship category. I think I will get another contest started this evening - battlecruisers I think.

Group 1

Bismarck (7) Orm, fodder, MAurelius, Empire101, parusski, bradfordkay, th1207
Vittorio Veneto (6) Chickenboy, cohimbra, borner, oldman45, geofflambert, Jimm
HMS King George V (5) warspite1, redcoat, british exil, sprior, jeffK

Group 2

USS Iowa (8) warspite1, Orm, parusski, Chickenboy, MAurelius, british exil, JeffK, geofflambert
Yamato (7) fodder, cohimbra, Empire101, borner, bradfordkay, th1207, oldman45
Richelieu (3) redcoat, sprior, Jimm

Whilst we have reached the halfway point of the Fast BB's, time to get the Beautiful battlecruisers competition under way. There is a dearth of entrants here thanks to Jutland, so this competition takes the form of two semi-finals to determine the finalists. Dunkerque and Scharnhorst are both sometimes referrd to as BC's hence their inclusion.

First up we have:

Dunkerque vs Alaska
