Ok, a while back - years back - something screwed up on my account, so I had no luck with any forum support and I ended up having to create a new account - Roger Neilson II. Today it screwed again and I have ended up having to create another new account.......

First problem, my emails have already been used, so I had to dig out an obscure one to even get registered.....

Second problem, all my contacts and past history is of course all gone.

Is there anyone who I can contact about this, or am I just having to start all of this again?

Its crazy.

Ok RANT over.

Roger

The best way is to contact Erik Rutins of Matrix!

I feel your pain... I have been on the forums from the start of Matrix Games and have had to create new accounts a couple of times as well.

I understand completely. Wish Matrix would figure out what's going on and fix it before we all become "So-and-So the umpteenth".

As far as I can see its down to the requirement to use a different email, most of us run out of emails if we have to swap from one we have used. In my case I was getting rid of one I did not want to use any more and replacing it with my usual one - but hey, that had already been used once. So I have ended up having to effectively create a new one just to get back on. Seems a pretty daft thing, should be possible to change your email on a forum without having to lose everything.

Roger (the third now) Maybe I am establishing a dynasty!

Dear Roger{insert number here},

It is wonderful to see you back on the forum, after your absence of {insert number here} days. As one of the most esteemed members of the forum we are motivated to welcome you back in this personal way. Of course we have been obliged to retain a data processing firm to help automate the process owing to it's volume. We hope you understand.

Interesting. I've never had to recreate an account yet some like Roger seem to have the issue occur repeatedly. Maybe the ISP has something to do with it.

This is my second. However when I was laid-off for eight months may have inactivated my account as I had no internet access at home.

Hmmm...this could be lucrative.

I think I'll go and squat on Canoerebel 2's domain name now. Witpq 2 too. Nikademus 2 oughta be worth at LEAST .50 at the going rate.

Microsoft has the same problem with your xbox live accounts. Now that I'm moving I'll finally get another e-mail addy and fix that problem. Unfortunately, it appears that moving and getting another e-mail addy may kill my current Matrix account. I guess I could just not change the account info and tell everyone not to use e-mail to contact me. Sigh.

Ooh...another option: Getting people to pay me to NOT assume a perjorative handle.

I wonder if the login "Captain Mandrake the nosepicker" would elicit some bids?

Roger,

I insist on another re-incarnation photograph in your sig line

Seems a long time since you were despairingly listening to Newcastle on a Saturday afternoon as plain old Roger Neilson. Some changes have been for the better

Ha Bill, good memory! Hope all is well with you.

Yes if I am stuck with the new ID I will sort another sig.

As for Newcastle..... what a difference this year, despite a host of reasons why we should not be doing as well as we are.

Roger

Indeed, and I have now amended my sig. However I need reminding how to make it show on my posts. I have it on my flickr account and have the url link for it, but what's the html to get it to show? Anyone?

Roger

Ok trial and error. Has to be a gif format, on photobucket it seems, and using the html tags

Wow, I never knew there was an issue like this. I would hate to lose my account. I might get accused of being a spambot when I tried to come back with a new account.

What happens to your purchased games?

The forum id is not your Matrix Games id, the two are entirely separate. Have no fear about your games.

Also if you have problems over your games Matrix are very helpful - unlike the backwater that the forum seems to be they sort the games licensing out fast if there is a problem.

Roger

Glad you got your signature line back Roger...your quote 'Do not act incautiously etc..' always bought a smile to my lips!!

An unplanned dynasty..lol

Should'nt you have employed the magisterial 'III' instead of the lowly '3' in your latest incarnation?

Newcastle is playing great. I'm proud of the comeback my Gunners have mounted as well. Why does a Texan pull for Arsenal? I had to pick somebody, the Manchesters were too obvious and Arsenal has a cannon in their logo. Very Texan if you are familiar with the "Come and Take It" Gonzales flag.
