VVS night missions - am I doing this right? - 4/5/2012 8:23:01 PM

I have read that VVS bases, when stocked with level bombers and transports, provide night supplies to partisans. Do I set the VVS base itself to night missions, or do I set each individual air group to night missions? Also, can I mix night and day missions in the same base and still have partisan resupply operations fly? For example, let's say I set 80% of the aircraft at my VVS base to night missions and leave the others as day missions, will the 80% attempt night resupply and the remaining 20% do whatever during the day? Will the 20% day flights do nothing, or will they actually fly day missions? I am assuming the AI will execute my resupply operations from these bases and that my only responsibility is keeping them stocked with appropriate aircraft set to appropriate missions.

I have also read a suggestion on the forums to stock a VVS base with transports and recon. But I have also read that VVS bases should have level bombers and transports to provide supply operations. Should I simply place all three types in each of my VVS bases, or should I stick to one plan over another (50/50 split between transports and recon; some mix of transports and level bombers; or some mix of transports, bombers, and recon).

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers,
Jason

You need to set each air group to night missions if you want them to supply partisans.
You can also use other bases appart from VVS, provided the bombers are on night missions (check manual for which bases, they are specified)
You can mix freely, those not on night missions will be available for other duties.
You can attach recon to any airbase, I usually attach them my fighter bases as these are generally located closest to the front.
