Reluctant Admiral 4.1
Since a number of new RA 4.0 games have started with experienced players I wanted to open this Thread up for comments, questions, issues, and ideas for a 4.1 Version of the Mod.
Comments I've gotten or heard to this point:
1. China bases needing garrisons on DAY ONE with no troops in them. (Easy Fix)
2. The location of the Pensacola TF at Manila providing a nasty surprise to Japanese players while at the same time offering a VP FEAST for the Japanese side.
3. A number of Allied units in China, India, and USA starting a FULL strength instead of cadre level.
4. The A-24's having a withdrawl date when the intention is for that NOT to be so.
These are notes off the top of my head. What have I missed or need to be added?
Am looking for Japanese as well as Allied feedback.

1. Leave them in Manila to be crushed but those reinforcements and planes are PRESENT Day One.
2. Place the TF somewhere 2-4 days from the Philippines. Figure along the north coast of New Guinea or in the Kendari--Balikpapan--Manado area. All cargo on-board.
3. Have them a Day from Darwin with everything loaded.

I would like the convoy to have 2 of 3 of the A-24s on board along with the P-40 from Pago Pago. The third A-24 could be left at Townsville. In addition, it would be nice if the convoy had an Air HQ for Aviation Support (there is one in Pacific NW). It would be scheduled to arrive at Darwin at end of Dec 8th. If it has max supplies, then the Allied player has some options - 1) try to run into Ambon at full speed and make it more difficult for Japan; 2) unload at Darwin; and 3) turn around and unload at Port Moresby to be added to the mix that is already headed there from Townsville. Is the Allied player willing to make that strong a stand at Port Moresby so early??

Starting work on fixing the China and India situations. I shall:
1. Work to get troops to those bases requiring garrisons that start with nothing.
2. Reduce troops levels to the historical numbers.

Also intend to damage a good amount of US Industry--Resource--Oil to slow down the massive amount of supply and fuel the US has at start. Michael told me that the numbers, even reduced at the start in RA, are still simply mind-boggling!

Pensacola TF will start--unloaded--at Darwin. Moved the LCU (2 BF and 3 Art units), 3 A-24 Squadrons, the P-40 Squadron, and 12,000 supply from Manila to here.

Michael: I am looking at the Chinese and comparing them to Scen 1 and see little difference in terms of them being fully filled out. Can you Post a few examples so I can see?

I made a bunch of changes to the Continental US. I disabled resources, oil, heavy industry, and some refinery. Most of them were between 20-40 but some were upwards of 100. This should serve to impact the opening 3 months and better reflect the ramping up of American industry.

I would make it from 1/3 to 1/2 disablement.
At start, San Fran looks like:
Manpower - 15 (disable 5 to 10)
Resources - 160 (disable 53 to 80)
Heavy Industry - 240 (disable 80 to 120)
Light Industry - 540 (disable 179 to 270)

I now have a headache. Looks like about 30-40% of the Chinese OOB have their 'Use TOE' button pushed and that can only be fixed by a unit-by-unit fix. NICE!

I do have a HEADACHE! Just finished fixing China. I was wrong above. The OOB was screwed up along the lines of about 75% of Chinese units. If it carried a gun, the unit was at full strength. NASTY.
Michael is going through India and USA. Will check those once he provides me some direction then should be OK for the release of 4.1.
If you have just started an RA 4.0 or are thinking about it, I strongly advice stopping and/or waiting. China will be a horrific surprise to the Japanese. Pending on things I should be able to release 4.1 by tomorrow afternoon. Much apologies for the error and mistakes. On the BRIGHT side the Pensacola TF will start when it can safely sit until you know what you want to do with it!

Yes, and they stand their ground fairly well. I am concerned about supply to this many troops. I hate to re-start the game. Was organic supply beefed up for Chinese in the scenario? (no cracks about organic foods please)If it carried a gun, the unit was at full strength. NASTY.

No additional Chinese supply so that will impact things. I would advise speaking with your opponent about this. Your units will weaken due to the supply issues. Perhaps a ceasefire would work?

I wonder if we're cursed to screw up Chinese OOB. This is the third time this happens in release! Seriously, after looking in this thread it practically shattered whatever desire to continue modding I managed to muster today. I cannot afford a couple days for a meticulous look-through before releasing anything (and couldn't before releasing 4.0 too), and I don't want to participate in constantly letting people down...
