Post by warspite1 »

Can't wait. Now coverage is on Sky - its wall to wall F1 at the weekend [:)].

Lets just hope the championship is a bit closer than last year though.

All the best Lewis, Jenson and Paul [&o][&o][&o]

Set my alarm to start but was too tired 4hrs sleep) to watch the race, saw the start. Just seen results on the website. Will be able to rewatch the race this afternoon on Sky in peace and quiet.

Nice results. looking forward to an exciting year, hoping Lotus will add a bit of extra spice to the races and results.

I was planning on watching the replay today, but I was up when it started and could not stop watching.

Good luck Jenson and Paul too.

It was indeed. The mark of a great driver, being able to win with sub-standard machinery [&o].

Huge fan of Michael Schumacher, looks like their 2012 car is still a dog. Nice to see Red Bull not dominating... I was very impressed with Perez and Sauber in Malaysian GP!

I am not sure the Mercedes is a dog - admittedly its not looking too great at the moment, but is better relative to the front runners than last year's car. However, I think Nico Rosberg is showing his rather limited ability. He needs to up his game pretty quickly....

Nice to see the conspiracy theorists are out and about, claiming that Perez was ordered by the Ferrari-powered Sauber team not to beat Alonso [8|]

Well done Nico and Mercedes! I didn't think Nico had that sort of performance in him.

Fantastic race, loads of overtaking, drivers keeping it hard but fair. Jenson in particular with some brilliant manoeuvres [&o]. Roll-on Bahrain.

Yeah, nice to see lots of overtaking.
The cars and drivers seem to have a similar quality, so we might be looking to a very close championship this year.

The teams seemed to have worked hard on their 2011 cars and designs making them a competitor, opposing the Sauber Redbull.

Were Redbull sleeping after 2011? Or will they really pose a threat towards the 2012 championship?

You can never write-off Red Bull because a) they have Vettel b) Webber is no slouch either, but most of all c) they have Adrian Newey. They obviously got most out of the blown diffuser last year - and so have a lot of ground to make up now that that loophole has gone - but I would not bet against them yet....

Mercedes seem to have got their act together - although I wonder what would have happened to their tyres if it had been hotter?

Can't wait for Bahrain next week!

Its nice to see a fellow F1'er around the forum!  I can't wait for Bahrain, I think it will really help see who is the real deal in the season so far.  If its hot enough it should really stress the cars and show some possible weaknesses.

I'm not sure about Merc, their double DRS, as I've heard it called, might make a difference in qualy, but their race pace in the first two races was way off.  Your right Warsprite about the tires, it will be interesting to see how Merc does on hot tires.

Don't count out Lotus, I don't know what really happened with Kimi in China but they have looked good in practice and qualy.  Going from 2nd to 14th in 2 laps was horrible to watch and I'm not even a Kimi fan.
