Hi all,
Purchased the game last year and played the original for years. Last year there were discussions on balance issues to be 'fixed' in later patched eg forts, German winter etc.

Just wondering how these are going (knowing that balance is a subjective matter anyway). Don't want to start a PBEM game if significant changes are forthcoming.

Thanks.

It's an excellent time to start a game with the latest 1.06 update. There are no major changes coming in the near future.

Regards,

- Erik

Game is much much better then at release. Balance is good.

Both players being equal the Russian player will probably get the minor win.

If German player knows the game better then he win probably get the minor win.

If one player is new and one has been playing for a while a blow out is possible.

The game is very complex, don't expect to play someone with 6+ games under there belts and you being new to human vs human to have a fair game in some cases.

Hehe, when I saw this thread I thought it was about balance issues in 1945!

Thanks for the replies - I'll get a PBEM game going then. I'm not worried about playing a real person as have been wargaming for over 30 years and played various other PBEM games. Actually getting thrashed by a good player is good.

Also my PBEM buddy is an Aussie so I'm assuming he'll be drunk for the majority of his turns so an added advantage (perhaps he should play Russians)...
