Turn 9 of Drama on the D.

As soon as I approach Budapest, the AI turns and runs, even though it had several powerful Panzer and Mech units in and around the city on turn 8. Buda is also an important VP objective.

Please make the AI fight for the main VP objectives, or find another way to score victory points.

Do you have a save file showing the AI bug out?

It seems like the AI will abandon a city if it's face with being surrounded and cut off?

Yes, that's exactly right. It does not like to be surrounded. Clearly Budapest was, surrounded and kept fighting for a while, but the AI does not do this. If it tried to hang on, it would probably end up in a much worse position because it would not manage the pocket very well in most cases. Still, it might be bugging out sooner than necessary.

Hi Joel. It bugged out before I even got there in force... Most of the scenario has been a road race across Romania and Hungary after the Romanians surrendered at the start of Turn 2.

OK I was able to reproduce this after a few tries so disregard the email I sent you earlier today. I'll add it to the bug list as BG0049 so Gary can decide if it is a problem or WAD. Thanks.
