Does anyone know of a third world war monster wargame. probably around mid 70's - mid '80s release.

Naval and land units. IIRC even had counters for the north sea oil platforms. Cost an absolubte fortune. Album game format.

Monster wargame and folio format from my memory seem to be mutually exclusive. Yaquinto did a few folio games but they were generally at the lower end of the size/complexity scale.

If it isn't a folio game then it could possibly be either the Third World War series by GDW or The Next War by SPI, though not certain either of these had oil platforms.

Try web grognards. Maybe you'll run across a title and have that "That's the one!!" moment.
