Total noob here - first post - and first dumb question (actually first 2 dumb questions):

1 - Do the resource, light industry, heavy industry, oil, and refinery values at bases increase during the course of the war? I realize they decrease when damaged or captured, and can be repaired, but I would think new factories had to have been built to put out the numbers of aircraft produced (especially in the US).

2 - How do resources and fuel move around the map (on land) from bases where they are excess to bases where they are needed? For example: Rawalpindi has 20 oil points and 20 refinery points, resulting in 180 fuel and 20 supply per day. As it's not a port nor have heavy industry, the fuel is not needed there. Some of it is needed at nearby Lahore (80 per day for Lahore's 40 HI points). Does the other 100 fuel go somewhere else or stay at Lahore? And who decides where? Since India has a monthly fuel deficit (for production purposes) of something like 61,500 fuel, which can easily be supplied from Abadan to Karachi or Bombay, does the fuel automagically (not my term, I stole it from another forum post) move to the other ports and HI bases over the rail network? Or do I need to dump fuel in Madras, Calcutta, etc, where the HI facilities are located?

And if this is not the right forum for this topic, let me know, please, because I'm sure I'll have more questions soon. Thanks.

1) there's no way the Allies can increase their factory sizes. new ones (for aircraft) will start production (and upgrade) automatically when they are due, this simulates the creation of new factories. also, be v. careful about industry repairs, in any area the IJ is active. you don't want to be spending supply for this, esp. in China. i'd say it's best for Allies to turn off repairs globally at start, 'cept you'll need to start repairs at the PH shipyard after turn 1!

2) resources are moved between centers on the map automatically by the computer, according to logicks of its own. certain supplies seem to pool in certain locations. the only controls you have are the incr/decr supply 'draw' at each base, and their 'stockpile' buttons (which only prevent magic-out-movement of the commodity, not use of it by units/factories in-hex). tho' i've read here that the number of ships/TFs based at a hex will affect its fuel draw.

in general, hexes connected by rail-lines will adequately distribute stuff to where it's needed, w/ a few caveats. for me, i've finally established a sporadic flow of fuel to Perth (Abadan > Karachi TFs, magicked to Bombay, then Bombay > Perth TFs). But the stuff seems to stay in Perth (tho' a lot has ended up in Darwin, why?) & not go to Melb/Sydney, whose HI was starvin'. I blame the low-capacity rail-line east of Perth, and have instituted Perth > Sydney TFs.

warroom or general forum would be better for these types of questions, but n/p.
& welcome aboard!
