I'm playing as the German's in the '44 Campaign, patch 1.06.00. I've played 10 turns now and have not had one unit encircled or destroyed. The Russians only pushed me back 3-4 hexes and stopped. Other than a couple attacks per turn from the Russians, no aggression at all. I also have a problem playing the Germans, the computer has a tendency to shift some of my German units around eventhough I am playing agaist the Russian AI.

Hi all,

Soviet AI in later war will usually "grind" but it will try encirclement in favorable situation!

Please note that German forces defending in 1944 against Soviets are stronger than Soviet forces defending from Germans in 1941... AI will much more likely do encirclements as German in 1941 (and 1942)...

When is it shifting the forces around, during the Soviet AI turn? That shouldn't happen. Can you get to this to repeat from a save? Are you playing on normal level? The attacking AI usually needs at least 110% help in order to get going well (even better at full Challenging level).

Hello Joel, the computer seems to be shifting German units around when the Soviet AI is on its turn. I am playing normal level too. I find it quite irritating.

Can you identify some specific units in the save you sent that will be moved by the AI during the next Soviet turn. We need to have a repeatable situation in order to figure out a bug with the AI moving human player units.

Well, all those units that are attached to OKH were next to the HQ when they moved. The 3rd SS Panzer Korps HQ will stay in place, but its units will be moved by the computer. I also had a couple of Volksgrenadier divisions around Warsaw and they moved. Never had a problem like this before. I think it might be because of one of the latest patches, v1.06.00.

Have you been able to duplicate the problem I have been having with this game in regards to the computer shifting German units when played by human host?

I've also experienced this. Units are moved across the map seemingly at random. Makes it impossible to put up a coherent defence.

Yes, we just confirmed a fix for it. Turns out units that are not attached directly to a front line HQ are susceptible to a little "reserve" shuffling by the AI's routine. Thanks to the save we were able to pin down the problem. Gary thinks it's been in the game for about 6 weeks. This fix will come out in a 1.06.04 (no exact ETA on that, but we're probably talking days not weeks). Thanks very much for this bug report and save.
