Elsenborn Ridge

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Elsenborn Ridge

Post by Count Sessine »

I have played this scenario so many times as the Germans last year and never been even close to winning it. We discussed it last year on this forum, I remember saying that the American forces were too experienced for the Germans to have any realistic chance of breaking through.

Anyhow, last night I made it a draw. I managed to exit the first group, but failed to exit the second group. But damn was it close :-)

I managed to seize Rocherath and Krinkelt (with the 277 ID alone)...

Just wanted to congratulate you on making the scenario 'winnable', more historical, or however you want to put it :-)

I believe it is designed by Simovitch, yes? Did you change experience levels of the US troops or was it just the new patch code that changed something? I did notice than individual platoons were no longer such annoyances.

Thank you, I'm glad you are enjoying it.[:)] I didn't change anything on Elsenborn Ridge but the new patch eliminated a rare bug that effected units exiting and a few formation lockups.
