CASE YELLOW WHAT IF ?
In April 1940, Prime Minister Churchill has taken the decision to send all the british troop available on the french soil. Furthermore, 300 fighter planes cross the channel.
In Germany, February the 17th, Hitler hear about general Von Manstein' original plan to conduct the offensive in the west but decides to sitck to a variant of the Schliffen plan proposed by Halder. Netherlands and Belgium will be invaded, the coast of the channel taken will provide the Luftwaffe to conduct air attacks against the british Islands. The right ring with most of the Panzers will rush toward Belgium and in a frontal attack, push the french and british armys behind the Somme.
The 10th of May, the invasion of the low countrys begin. The 11th, The ALlied decides in an Hurry to change their plan. The fall of the fortress of Eben Emael and the fact that the Belgium army did not built defensives positions in the Gembloux gap conduct Gamelin to change his mind:
The BEF will advance and defend a line from Antwer to Brussel to Nivelle.
The french 7th army will join the 1st army and concentrate were the germans should try their Breakthrough : From Charleroi to Philippevilles.

RE: CASE YELLOW WHAT IF ?
The first days, 11th of May until 15th of May
News from Netherlands are not good at all. Citys suffered terror bombings. The poder have been inondated but the netherland army suffer heavy losses. Moral has dropped. Netherlands may surrender in a few days.
The 2nd belgium infantry failed to take back Eben Emael. Now that some important bridges are in the hand of the germans, the defenses of the Canal Albert is useless. Troops withdraw and the cavalry corps take position to slow down the ennemy but those units are rapidly surrounded, as the city of Liege the 14th. The VI corps is almost destroy...
The ennemy advance cautiously. The sky is all german.
The 7th army moves slowly to his new positions. One corp will finally be directed toward Antwer (A british ask).
The 1st army is now diging. The 5th motorised div has moved toward Dinant. The task is to destroy all the bridges and try to slow down the panzers that the recon have detected. The powerful DLM2 is moved forward too but hides in the villages and the woods. They may counter attack if possible.
The 9th and 2th army sector have been very quiet. But some positions are not well fortified.

16 MAY
Liege has fallen...Leuven is threaten. The 2nd belgium cav is surrounded.
Eindhoven has fallen . Netherlands collapse (morale 37) without the intervention of german paratroopers...I will have to be carefull and defend my rear all along the front. The axis can drop two divisions.

17 MAY. 2nd army sector
Strange...I first I thought that this part of the front would be merely static and that 2nd army will need no reinforcement. The german arty is powerful. My front line suffers a lot.

RE: CASE YELLOW WHAT IF ?
Hi Alikchi. I found this very interesting to play too. I am following my plan but I begin to fear that all is not going to be has expected...[&:]
18 MAY
2A sector: The german arty and the Luftwaffe attacks without a break. No ground attacks. My DCR2 that was suppose to counter attack won't just because I assigned it to an HQ, it lost 50% of effectiviness.[:@]
9A sector: First german attack :

The german's infantry moves forward. The french arty fires all along the line. A german breakthrough is pushed back by a rgt of DLM2

RE: CASE YELLOW WHAT IF ?
18 MAY: I discover that the stats provided by this game are interesting. You just need to take the time to read those graphics.
I don't see how Germany could stay under 22% of losses. This is going to be very bloody.
I red on Wiki this about Halder's plan:
"Aufmarschanweisung N°1 was based on an unimaginative frontal attack, sacrificing a projected half a million German soldiers to attain the limited goal of throwing the Allies back to the River Somme. Germany's strength for 1940 would then be spent; only in 1942 could the main attack against France begin."
