Can anyone tell me if there is some kind of spotting by air (random, maybe) implemented? Every now and then I get a glimpse of enemy units (I'm talking about BFTB here) way back in the rear. I LOS them and they are well out of sight, not spotted, in other words by any of my units. So why should they appear?

Possibly artillery firing? They will be acquired during the mission and then be "lost" immediately after, at ranges much greater than normal static units. Moving units will also appear at extended ranges, but they tend to appear on someone's visibility/threat list as they probably move within sight for longer than a single shoot's duration.

Mmm. Thanks Lieste. Some might have been arty units, but most I noticed were moving, so they wouldn't have been arty firing. Why would moving units be spotted, even though the LOS tool says none of my lot can see them? You sure there's no random air spotting thing going on?

You can spot a moving unit at further distance than a deployed unit and even further for a firing unit.
