Command ops HTTR and directory

Post by SvenilVecchio »

Hello, I bought HTTR new version but this game should be installed in the same directory as the Battle of the Bulge? Because if I install it in another directory, the game does not start. And if you start in the Battle of the Bulge HTTR start-up if I have the graphics of the bottom of Battle of the Bulge, the scenario has to select inside. I do not like this I want to start it separately, but I can not.
In addition, the old version when I play I said it was not installed properly, why?
I have Windows 7 64-bit and Avira antivirus.
Thanks and sorry for my English.

The new HTTR is just an expansion, not a complete stand alone game. Therefore, requires the base game to play. It is very typical of all games that have an expansion that they get installed into the same directory as the base game.

I do not like this. So why do I start the expansion alone with his background and I can not play? Because if I want to start my arnhem standards opens the desktop of Battle of the Bulge and then choose the scenarios for HTTR? Can not be separated?
And because the old version does not start?

SV,

As Grim Reaper explained this is an expansion pack, not a stand alone game. As such it requires uou to launch BFTB and then select the scenario from the HTTR scenarios directory in the scenario selection screen. We chose this method because it meant we could get the product out sooner and at considerably less cost.

Try reinstalling the original HTTR again. I can't be sure but it may be that the registry entries for it have been clobbered. Was it working previously? Had you installed it prior to BFTB or after?

OK then try this:
  • Uninstall the original HTTR
  • Install the original HTTR
  • Test to see if the original HTTR works
  • Get back to me here with the results.

Thanks.

Hi all,

It might be MS Windows UAC...

Can you try running all the installers "As Administrator"?

You need to uninstall your HTTR and BFTB and then reinstall them as administrator.
