...rumors about Deliverance.  Many people are under the impression that James Dickey had the Chattooga in mind when he wrote his novel, but it was actually a trip down the Coosawattee River that stirred his imagination.  It is true, though, that some of the movie was filmed on the Chattooga.  This scintillating information is sure to stir desires amongst Forumites to take a rafting trip on the Wild & Scenic Chattooga this summer, which I will be glad to organize and attend if you gents are so inclined.  But, moving back to the narrative, we can surely all agree that Cap Mandrake is the Forumite most likely to sit in front of his television spellbound during some of the most famously disturbing scense of that dark and gripping movie.  While watching the movie one time, Cap was heard to exclaim.....

because the local Hippie population was not so bright. The got confused by the saying "never trust anyone over thirty" and turned it into "never trust any one under thirty inches." This led to some tense moments not the least of which wsa at the 2009 Chatooga Catfish Festival when .....
