My carriers retired to PH to regroup and reorganize.

Since the fall of Fiji and surrounding bases. My US-NZ route was put into great jeopardy.
But I have to reinforce NZ at all cost and I have to order my transports to go through the dangerous waters.

I tried to sneak in the convoy from the bottom of the map but they were still caught by the Jap carriers.
Lost a good number of transports in the last a few turns.

Yeah the intelligence first said she was sunk but after a few months they find out she is still in service.

quote:

ORIGINAL: Crackaces

The Soryu is in trouble. She is set on fire in the morning "heavy fires"-- probably from a critical hit, and is still on fire in the afternoon with an additional bomb hit. Hardly shugging it off it will be interesting if she burms to the waterline or somehow makes it to a port.

I learned first time to use Catalina as Allied torpedo bomber and it works!

Frankly speaking by now Allied don't have much method to hurt Jap ships. We got very limited bombers and all in short range. Maybe Catalina can change some thing here.

I adjusted my pilot training system according to my game experience. And I feel high exp does have impact on the A2A results. Now I'll put 70 air skill pilot on CAP mission until they reach 70 exp then put them in real combat. The result turns out to be much better than the failed February Guadalcanal Campaign, when I use 45-50 exp, 70 air skill pilots. Plus the bonus of Zeros have gone.
Both sides lost about 30 planes today. Not bad for Allied.

I have tons of USAAF fighters on escort mission yesterday and they don't coordinate with US navy and marine bombers. Today they finally fly and put a torpedo in Kaga.

But that's about it. I felt really weak against the 500 CAP Jap provided and it will be much better if my carriers are still around.

Good news is that Japs are stopped at the beachhead by two US regiments and some NZ tanks.

While Japs are busy and NZ, I quietly moved all my assets to Capetown then to Aden. Now I'm bringing the whole pacific fleet and Royal Navy to Counterattack Japs in India!

We have a HR that I can't started an amphibious attack from an off-map base. That means I have to bring my whole task force to Karachi first then head somewhere else.

So today, my whole fleet jumped out the wormhole and arrived at Karachi.
We killed more than 100 Jap planes on naval attack and escort with a loss of 16 wildcats, and an AP full of soldiers. Not too bad for the first day.

50 Zeros were brought down by my LRCAP at northeast Australia. I can anticipate the next move of Jap is landing somewhere in the northeast corner of Austalia(cooktown, cains, etc...maybe townsville)

I'm too weak right now and don't have much resource to repulse him from landing at Australia land.

All the sudden Cooktown and Cains were suppressed by Jap naval bombardment fleet. They stay at 9 hex away and come in at the night, and i don't have anything on hand that can really hurt them.

When Japs started their Australia Campaign,

Allied start to move and begin our India counter attack.

For some reason my transports jump out the wormhole 1 day earlier than i expected, and they are not covered by my carriers. Luckily the Japanese naval attack was moderate. And the losses are acceptable for a major operation.
