PROJECT: DRANG NACH OSTEN

The purpose of this project is to eliminate the "averages" used in War in the East between 22 June 1941 and 31 May 1942. The existing TOE(OB)s during this period are filled with "averages" that give the word average a bad name. In "particular" is the word best associated with the goal of PROJECT: DNO. Close enough for government work was the opportunity to play-test the status quo for $80 out of the box. Man wasn't that a deal? PROJECT: DNO is about answering The Mail...Post Office Box: Eastern Front.

Chess is a game played by two people on a chessboard, with sixteen pieces (of six different types) for each player. Each type of piece moves in a distinct way. The goal of the game is to checkmate, i.e. to threaten the opponent's king with inevitable capture. Games do not necessarily end with checkmate – players often resign if they believe they will lose. In addition, there are several ways that a game can end in a draw.

CHESS: If it is discovered during the game that the starting position was incorrect, the game is restarted. If it is discovered during the game that the board is oriented incorrectly, the game is continued with the pieces transferred to a correctly oriented board...

Why does the scenario check log provide the following feedback:

Why can't the game engine and/or data base reconcile itself using it's own scenario check tool?

...In essence? How do you use the WITE engine--as is--to provide a gaming experience that is equal in challenge and potential for success for both sides? The game engine can...and the data should be changed to meet this goal. That is the essence of PROJECT:DNO.

Victory must be achieved by 7 May 1942...after that? PROJECT:DNO views that all timelines and data elements that follow 7 May 1942 are interesting...but irrelevant to The Game--DNO.

Now...let's get started.

Question One. How is it that the Soviets have a starting manpower strength of 800,000 men...surely that's based on history...or is it?

Facts are. Discover them.

I need someone with interest and/or knowledge of the German divisional mobilization waves, and/or the national sources of equipment associated with each division in each wave. Post here or PM me if you have data that advances this line of inquiry. Thanks in advance.

Thanks TAIL_GUNNER. I hope to put in place the likes of your research on this and other things. Good stuff; good works--and good intent. Keep on it.

Thank you kindly for the compliments.

I actually started to do what you're aiming to achieve last year. However, this was way before we were able to lock generic data and so it fell by the wayside out of frustration.

Here's the old LINK

I was planning on redoing this for my Panzer Vorwärts! mod after I'm done with the "fun" stuff, but I'd be more than happy to let you do it and then add it in.

Here you can find a document on the mobilization waves i made for TOAW 3. It is not as detailed as you'd want for this game, and it is ful of errors. I hope to fix it one day, but life keeps getting in the way.

polarenper,

Thanks for this contribution. It is quite a substantial piece of work. Glad to see Tessin was your standard for conflict resolution. I'll put this effort to work.
