Hi kvolk,

when installing the game, you are offered to install the required "Visual C++ redistributable" (this is enabled by default). Can you confirm that you indeed installed this?

I did install the Visual C++ and there are several instances of it when I look in add/remove programs.

Looks like a dependency problem related to something specific on your machine. We didn't see this elsewhere.

I'll be sending you a PM with some requests for further information on your setup.

We solved this apparently too. Microsoft should be sending me checks, eh? [8|]

If you happen to have this problem, first thing to do is check your installed programs for multiple copies of "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable". One is usually enough. Remember to create a restore point before removing the other ones though. Remove all "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable" packages whose versions start with 9.0.30729.

Then, go to the following Microsoft page, download and install vcredist_x86.exe and reboot.

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... n&id=26368

There is no need to reinstall UoC, it should just work once vcredist is sorted out.

Well yeah, it's a mess. [:D]

That said, you should never touch this unless you have a problem IMO.

So you think that I should just leave them?

Yes. I wouldn't worry about them unless there was some sort of a problem like the one kvolk described.

Hi Yamboo,

did you try the following method? Remember to create a restore point or otherwise backup your stuff first.
