Of a heart attack apparently. No more Cognac and Russian hookers for him.

On a more serious note, his apparent successor was still being groomed and it could herald a period of instability with uncertain consequences for the region.

Cheers, Neilster

Poor, dear leader. I'm sure he'll find hell quite interesting.

Perhaps it was the Cognac and Russian hookers that did for him.

I thought I heard his son was already the designated successor? Maybe he's not as wacko as his father was....

Its fake. Sneer Leader died from diabetes in 2003;

quote:

"Is Kim Jong Il for real? The question has baffled foreign intelligence agencies for years, but a veteran Japanese expert on North Korea says the “dear leader” is actually dead — and his role is played by a double.

The expert says Kim died of diabetes in 2003 and world leaders, including Vladimir Putin of Russia and Hu Jintao of China, have been negotiating with an imposter.

Not sure if this isn't more destabilising to be honest.

Though I feel the threat of the north koreans is overhyped and the only ones who have anything to fear are most likely north Koreans.

Odds are Sneer Leader died in 2003. Most Intel experts agree that their doubles ruse was most likely in operation most of the time;
