Panzer Corps Gets Another Update!

Fans of the old Panzer General series rejoice for the release of Panzer Corps. Following in the footsteps of the popular SSI masterpiece and sharing with the General series the same level of engagement and strategic depth, Panzer Corps will keep an unmistakable "PG feeling" whilst improving and refining the gameplay and balance. Panzer Corps will feature 26 scenarios on 21 unique maps, covering most major battles of the European Theatre of World War II and including a few hypothetical 'what if' scenarios based on your actions. Now expanded with a full-war mega-campaign and the Afrika Corps and Allied Corps releases!

About Panzer Corps

Panzer Corps is a brand new turn-based strategy game that reinvents a classic genre. Produced and developed by a team of experts and brought to perfection by a community of hundreds of fans, the game has evolved over 2 years to become what can be defined as a modern classic!

Set in World War II, Panzer Corps puts the player in charge of Axis armies, taking their core force with them through the entire war. The use of combined-arms tactics requires each general to make use of the strengths and exploit the weaknesses of their opponents.

Its multiplayer mode, an improved version of Slitherine’s award winning PBEM++ system, allows players to easily find opponents anywhere in the world enjoy playing them with none of the hassle.

Panzer Corps is designed to replicate the feeling of a classic wargame, but brings it up to 21st century standards and to a whole new generation of gamers.

Get the update here. The update is comprehensive and will bring all previous versions of Panzer Corps to 1.05. Get more information on Panzer Corps from its official on the Slitherine site or on the Matrix Games site.

I see that you are using a mirror for this patch. Are all of the future Matrix patches going to be through mirrors now? This one is piddly slow and a several minute wait. [&:]

It's a zip extension, so unzip it anywhere you want, and click the exe file. It will find your installation folder and reg code, but you may have to correct where the shortcuts are located. Then it does the rest! [:)]

Hi Larry,

After the demand for the first few, we thought that adding some mirrors would be a good idea. We have since added a great deal of additional bandwidth to our servers, so if you try downloading from our site through "Check for Updates" or the public FTP, you should see much faster download speeds than with previous update releases.

Regards,

Gotta report that, during my '41 campaign installation, the v1.05 patch didn't installed automatically and I had to download it (doing it right now) manually.

Did you already install the 1.05 patch? If so it would skip it.

No, you missed my point. I had v1.04; I installed '41 campaign and SHOULD installed ALSO the v1.05, but didn't.
So I had to do it manually.

I see 3 new difficulty levels. Is Rommel the hardest level? Does it alter the path of the game if I choose different generals?

The path is always your choice, the three extra difficulty levels above Field Marshal have some extra modifiers:

Guderian: lowers the number of turns you have to complete a scenario or to achieve a decisive victory.
Manstein: sets enemy unit strength to 15.
Rommel: reduces your number of core units and prestige.

Does this patch make all of our old saves unplayable? (We have to start the game over?)

No, saves will load up fromolder versions. Backwards compatability is essential.

@Arkady,
That's a damn fine sig. I wish I'd thought of it.
