Status: offline 		Should I care? Normally I'd stash a 4-win unit for selective use to gain Guards status. But no matter what, the tank divisions will convert to brigades. Does their win/loss or guards status transfer? I don't think so.

Status: offline 		No -there is a maximum percentage of the total number of guards units:

The limit for motorized type units is approximately 35 percent. For non-motorized type units, the approximate percentage limit varies by year as follows:
1941 5 percent
January - June 1942 -10 percent
July - December 1942 17 percent
1943 25 percent
1944 30 percent

You can keep you tear rags.

Status: offline 		I did not really pay attention to the Guards conversion rule on the manual. Now I have just read it.

In your case, the Tank Division needs minimum 12 victories (condition one).

Yes, if it is an on-map, OOB conversion. However, I'm pretty sure that the win/loss totals are zeroed out in the case of the division getting forcibly converted during a rout>removal>reinforcement cycle.
