The lost number in Event Log

I have played several campaign, but found that the surrender number and Misc. number always zero, but millions people surrendered.
Could anybody tell me how this event log message means ?
Is there another calculate methods for the losts?

The surrender stuff is somewhat strange, I don't know if it's working properly.
In a human-human testgame I placed some Sov divisions near the front, encircled them completely with Axis divs and on the next turn they were defeated in battle and should have surrendered with their losses listed as surrender lossed - but surrender losses are still zero.

I think the developers stated some time ago that this numbers mean the number of guys who surrender in the logistics phase. However since a few patches ago this was abolished. It does not count the numbers of guys surrendering in your (active) turn.

Yes, I've heard of that.
But after several turns of logistics phase, especially in 1941, there were zero people surrendered in logistics phase.

Logistics phase surrenders were not totally abolished, but are extremely rare. These are the only surrenders that are counted in the event log total.
