Have not played for awhile but now back playing with all the patches. Something I noticed, every bombardment by my warships results in no repression of any kind. I mean never. When I used to play before bombardment worked correctly every time. What goes?

Could you please be more specific?
Does it means that when you are bombarding enemy units with your warships, they don't reducing effectiveness?

Sorry I was not specfic Doom. Yes my warships are bombarding land units and I have yet to get any effectiveness reduction at all, I am playing in August 1942 and none so far. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hi GW how are you?
This company Wastelands has good ideas for games of strategy war games, decent graphics, good game movements, decent AI. But the moment they have to do a patch their world caves in. I just don't get it. Their programmers are good enough to make a very decent game, but if they have to correct any mistakes with patches they are the worlds worst. They do not get back to your questions in a reasonble amount of time IMO. Doom's a decent kind of guy but he too is slow on the draw. He knew what I was talking about when I brought up the bombardment question, he knows it doesn't work right. Why play dumb I just don't get it. I consider it poor customer relations. And now they expect you to buy their new game. They have a ways to go before I give them any more of my hard earned money. I am not trying to offend anyone including Doom, but right is right and wrong is wrong.

I agree, a decent patch is in order for SoP. Now, as to Doomtrader playing dumb, what makes you think he's playing?

(Sorry Doomtrader, it was just too easy a shot, not to make it!)

Actually, he may have ... forgotten? It's not like he's been playing a lot of SoP himself while working on ToF. And if you don't get ToF, you'll be missing out big time, I can assure you.

My comment was not about how good or bad Tof will be or whether you will be missing out big time or not but how they stand behind their product. The game can be the best game ever made but if they can't correct their mistakes properly which IMHO they have failed to do in the past, what makes you think anything will be better in the future. You know the old saying fool me once [well actually twice] its on you, fool me three times its on us. You know I really blame Matrix in the long run for not enforcing Wastelands to back their games to the hilt. Oh well my words fall on deaf ears at Wastelands.

I'm agreeing with you on the lack of followup with SoP. It's sad. Should have been a bigger success with proper backup. It's not like the problems you've found with it are critical, however.

Based upon my experience doing beta testing on both SoP and ToF, I can vouch for the fact that ToF is more polished. Wastelands put a lot of the improvements into ToF that should go into SoP, and hopefully will eventually.

True not critical just annoying, I downloaded Tof beta and it does look good gw, are those white blanks covering units under FOW going to be part of the finished game?

Yes, when 'advanced recon' rules are chosen in preferences, you get enhanced Fog of War, whereby recon will not always reveal all aspects of the enemy unit, perhaps type or strength.

I started up STORM again to get ready for ToF.

Bombardment is broken as stated above and affects gameplay results.

wont buy ToF until Storm is fixed...i already paid for that one.
can a fix be sent out soon?

I thought I could get by without the meds GW until I started playing SOP and started to read the posts again. Oh well back on them again. A poster made a nice comment on TOF about Wastelands and their patches hmmmmmmm! Your a good guy GW but sometimes you just don't get it. sometimes.

I will send the files this week to folks at Matrix, so there is a small chance that the beta version of the patch will be released net week.
