So, I recently upgraded from the 1.06whatever version available in the download section to the latest Beta patch for the PBEM I´m about to begin, and I notice new features here and there. Knowing the guys in charge of this, I feel safe to assume they´re all useful without knowing what they do, but nevertheless I´m curious.

First of all, what does the Stockpile option in base screens (and in the troops pool) do?

Second, is there any way to adjust carrier squadron sizes while there are still size changes scheduled? KB is a bit lightly clothed for the upcoming storm with only 18 fighters per carrier.

I´m sure more questions will come up later on.
All things considered, though, a big "thumbs up" for the series of patches; things are a lot more convenient now than the last time I played Japan.

No, you cannot resize KB before July 1942.

Stockpile means just that, the base in question will NOT forward supplies or fuel or oil onwards out to other bases in its "nextwork" (meaning those down the supply chain). It is quite good to ensure that bases that look VERY vulnerable don't get fed supplies right up to the bitter end and thus wasted. OF if you want to have a LOT of supplies in a base getting it ready for a big siege or some such thing... Hal

It would also concentrate resources and oil in a shipping port for transport back to Japan, rather than scattering them all over an island, wouldn´t it?

Yes true, sorry for not mentioning it, but I play the Allies and don't think in terms of that as I've enough stuff to go around except if a very few spots...Hal

One more thing. Reading other AARs, I caught cryptic references to, I think, buying back LCUs with PP. Is that implemented now, analogous to destroyed air groups? Would be neat...

It's actually a two-sided blade, at least for the allied player. You can get them back, but you need to have to fill them up again. Always keep your eyes on your replacement pools, or you pay precious PPs for empty units.

Okay, two more questions.

First, I noticed a lot of "[R]" and "[S]" next to the HQ name in unit windows. I know the R thing means restricted, but what does the S designation mean?

Then, the stockpile option in the ground troop list, what does that do? I read that obsolete Japanese equipment eventually gets scrapped to free up manpower - does setting stockpile to "yes" prevent that?

Can anybody answer these questions?

[R] - permanent resticted
(R) - temporary restricted
[S] - static
