Just bought the game and so far I'm very impressed, the AI is superb! Just two tiny things are plaguing me:

- do what I might I cannot scroll the map with my mouse, this seems a bit counterintuitive

- it's very easy to destroy units, this is not realistic at this scale plus makes all the mistakes unforgivable (which of course has its merits)

I agree with the scrolling - and I've been meaning to mention it - I regularly try to scroll the map by moving the mouse to the edges of the screen.

Luckily, not all the scenarios have maps big enough to scroll - but I would like to see this added at some point.

Hmmm - no scrolling? I hate that. I know it's a little thing and not really related to how the games actually plays. But it's little things like this that can make or break how enjoyable a game can be. I hope they add it too.

Just in case everyone's missed it... you can scroll the map by left click and hold on any open hex to map then drag the map around.

I was just about to post that BH. Also - given the excellent interface, I think I'll let them off not scrolling by moving the mouse to the edge of the map - it's a mild inconvenience at worst

You can drag the map around by holding the left mouse button on an empty hex and moving the mouse. Thankfully most maps fit on the screen anyway, which improves the experience imo.

Scrolling with cursor keys is also working.

I don't mind the drag-scrolling at all. Works well for me given the degree of zoom the map currently has.

As for the game...

To me the best way I can describe it is "Diablo 2 for the Turn Based Wargame"! It's one big exercize of hack n' slash as you dart forces in an out of contact to belt your way towards your objectives. Supply is a killer!

Very curious design with some nice graphics, a smooth UI and lovely chrome such as pop-up objective icons that clearly explain what an objective is and why. Lovely, educational map location labels!

The solve-the-puzzle-against-the-clock element is the only downside imo. But it is doing a better job at it than Panzer Command. The latter though has more variety. The former, a clearer unit scale and purpose.

As for abstraction - I just lost the GD division in scenario 3 to a Soviet armored reinforcment counter-attack. Plausible? Shrug. Nice? Yes.

Panzer command? I don't any puzzle-solving in that game... can you elaborate on that? or do you mean Panzer Corps?

You are correct Borsook. It's a better puzzle game than Panzer Corps of course.

Man, I loved Diablo 2.
