Folks I noticed something that I don't recall being delineated in the manual and thus my question. It is about the shipyard or other repair facilities. When a ship is being repaired (only in a shipyard??) in the screen showing the repairs and how long they will take, it has something like repair points and a % after it... What's that all about and how did I miss it, is it a fix in the beta, as that's what I'm using? Thanks in advance. Hal

Can you add a screenshot of what you are referring to?

Not sure I can... it is in the "manage repairs" box, right hand side when you click on a ship under repairs... Sorry, I use a Mac to communicate but a home PC to play, but it has no ability to screen capture. Hal

hal, don't all PCs have the ability to screen capture built in by virtue of the "print screen' button?

hit print screen. open paint. paste. save as a .jpeg

I think I know what you are referring to.
The "Repair points:  xxx(999%)" indicates a how well the ship is advancing towards repair using the shipyard.
Roughly, it indicates how far along a ship is when repairing a damage point.

Very handy to know (if deciding whether you've made any progress towards that major flood damage on a big ship).

Cheers,

Daniel

I thought that xxx showed the number of repair points used last turn while the (99%) shows the total repair damage completed last turn?

Hans, thanks and you are right I should be able to do so, but I've limited software on the computer... I tried but was not successful. However Michaelm is right, that's what I'm referring to... however I still don't know what those numbers really mean as illustrated by Chris's input above....I KNOW those numbers can be useful, as repairing damage is important (as Paul keeps on GIVING me damage) but I just don't know for sure what the numbers are... Folks,

I am reposting this as I still don't know what those repair numbers really mean. Can anyone enlighten me? Chris made a stab at it but so far no one can tell me for sure how to interpret those numbers (again when you click on ships at anchor in a harbor, then "manage repairs" (I think that's what is is) and then upon an individual ship, if it is in a shipyard it has a number of repair points and then a %. Not sure how to interpret it all.... it seems important or it wouldn't be in the game!

This should keep you busy, and confused, or maybe you`ll get luckly and Alfred will come by. ( not trying to be "cute" like everyone else I have NO Idea how that works.)

Thanks I did a search and didn't find anything, I think the change is relatively new (part of the beta change?).

I've started drafting a ship repair 101 guide.

I don't play with the betas therefore in the absence of a screen shot I can't directly interpret your situation. But my gut feeling is that the beta change is essentially eye candy.

Alfred,

please hurry with the guide I am in desperate need of it, currently trying to save two CVLs sitting in a lvl 2 port, but failing. Is naval support going to help them at all?

Naval support does provide repair points for ships which are repairing at pierside or under normal readiness.

Then it would appear that the change was made in one of the beta updates and the explanation is there as well... I'll look for it and I'll try to obtain a screen capture, but believe my my computer doesn't like to do that... my MAC on the other hand can do that standing on its hard drive!!!!

Well I looked at all of the Beta and there is nothing there about this change, ok, it looks like I'm going to have to get my computer to give me a screen shot... Hal
