Looking for new game suggestions

Post by GaryChildress »

I received a 50% off coupon from Matrix due to the late delivery of the Panzer Corps DLCs I ordered. Thank you Matrix! Completely unexpected! I ordered the DL/physical combination so it wasn't a big deal to me that the physical copies are late on order. This is definitely a bonus! The DLCs themselves were only $15, so this is a great savings and just in time for Christmas! Great customer service as always!! Bravo Matrix! [&o]

But now I'm in a quandary. I have 30 days to use it. However I've already purchased pretty much every Matrix game I've been passionately interested in so far. So I'm not sure what to use it on. I'm wondering if there are any new games due out before Christmas which I could purchase? Or does anyone have any recommendations?

This is my current Matrix catalog

Uncommon Valor
War Plan Orange
War in the Pacific
War in the Pacific Admirals Edition
EVERY TITLE IN THE CLOSE COMBAT SERIES
Commander Europe at War
Commander Napoleon at War
Panzer Corps
Distant Worlds
Forge of Freedom
John Tiller's Campaign Series
The Operational Art of War

I don't see Hannibal on your list. If you like ancient campaigns, then I highly recommend it. With 50% off, it is a bargain![:)]

OH YES!!

MAJOR COUP D'ETAT ABOUT TO HAPPEN! Just realized I haven't purchased GG's War in the East yet!

I was a little put off by what looks like a very complex game that might be difficult for me to learn but at 50% off...

I have recently bought Unity of Command and I think that it is a great game. There have been some excellent reviews including a 5/5 and a 9/10.

my obvious advice is Armada 2526 with Supernova...or both addons to Distant Worlds

I saw that game, however, I was a little put off by the graphics I saw in one aar. It looks like it may be a little like Commander: Europe at war, which is a game I like very much, though.

I have distant worlds but haven't played it since maybe the first couple weeks after I purchased it. So I don't see much good in buying the expansion or whatever it is. I was also considering the Decisive Battles series as a possibility but I'm really leaning toward GG's WIE now that I thought of it. [8D]

Well...then it's Armada 2526 with Supernova, especially compared to the other games you have (turn-based).

Why wouldn't you wait for the annual "we're Thankful, they're giving" sale

That sounds like an excellent choice to me.

Does it expire.  Wait for World in Flames.  I bet that game will be priced at $100.

The coupon expires in 30 days. Not only that but I'm 44 years old and may expire myself before WiF is released. [:D]

Battles from the Bulge are great if you like operational wargames.
