Regarding resort bases...

Why does a resort base need cargo bays?

Given that the single "Recreation Center" provides the colony benefit, how do more or less passenger compartments help the resort base?

If I place a resort base away from a colony -- at a scenery location -- is the benefit from the income per passengers on the base? Assume the commerce center at the resort base provides this "trade" income (both from domestic and foreign faction passengers).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This be hard questions...

I have never used anything but default design. There can be lots of people on a resort base, but I have no clue if cargo bays/number of passenger compartments matter at all.

Income is for traffic, so per passenger is a natural assumption. A base placed on a scenic site near multiple large colonies (which does not have to be yours) can be a very good money earner.

For pure profits it could also be a very good idea to shoot down resort bases during war (to make your own the only option...), but I am not sure how this is when it comes to pure ethics...
