Like most of you, I've never met my opponents. I don't know what they look like, I really don't know anything about their private lives, but I do kind of form a mental image over time, kind of how a listener might form a mental image of a disc jockey they've heard for years but have never seen.

Well, I've been playing my current opponent, Chez da Jez, who is also called Chaz on occasion, for most of this year. I've never seen him and don't know very much about him. But I've formed this mental image of a man of impeccable taste and rugged good looks. He is a cross between Stone Phillips, Cary Grant, and Mattew McCanaughy. He's the intellectual equivalent of the love child of Albert Einstein and Natalie Portman. He has more integrity and credibility than Daniel Webster and Walter Cronkite.

I was wrong. So wrong.

When I logged onto the Internet this morning, there was a news item about my opponent. To say the least, I am shocked. Here's the text of the "headline":
"Chaz Skewered by Ex-'Dancing' Star." Here's the photo attached to that story:

...and on that note, I should add that I've long had a suspicion that Lady Gaga is actually my former opponent Miller.

I might humbly suggest that this would be a good thread for forumites to post photos of their opponents that they happened to come across in unexpected ways. I'm sure this kind of occurence is quite common....

Based upon a kind PM that I just received from a forumite who doesn't reside in America, who isn't familiar with Chaz Bono, and who thinks I might have actually and in very poor taste outed my current opponent....there is absolutlely no actual connection between my opponent, Chez Da Jez, and Chaz Bono. (I can see where uncertainty on this point might make forumites think I had just perpetrated a very unkind act upon my opponent.)

I am quite confident that my opponent is the former Prime Minister of Sweden (or some similar cold place) but he has asked me not to discuss it.

Maybe you're even luckier than you think, crsutton? Perhaps your opponent is actually a member of the Swedish Bikini Team* and is presently forumulating an elaborate and rather pleasing way to thank you for all the time you devoted to the game?

*Swedish Bikini Team": A 1990s Budweiser Beer television campaign built around this concept: A couple of red-blooded American males are enjoying some iconic form of male-bonding activity: They might be hunting elk in a magnificent forest; or enjoying working on a classic '65 Mustang; or watching their beloved football team dismantling the hated rival. Then, one of these exquisitely happy males makes an inoccent remark: "It doesn't get much better than this!" Lo and behold, the Swedish Bikini Team (a very handsome group of blond and buxom females) is seen parachuting in to join the happy males. :)

As a public service, I herewith post a photo of crsutton's opponents.

P.S. I should also note that a quick Internet search showed me that the Bikini Team was an Old Milwaukee, not Budweiser, advertising campaign.

Are you kidding? This looks like a mixture of Arapaho, Norse, and Aramaic. I have no idea what this is!

whats more scary is that i can decipher it to a degree. I'll never be a codewriter though. Just don't have the knack.....unless its restricted to needing a program that counts the number of apples you sold during the day.

Steamboateng, thanks for trying to explain it to me, but all you've done is add in some Swahili to the previous mix of Norse, Arapaho and Aramaic. What the heck is a data set?

P.S. No need to explain. As you can see, I'm illiterate in these matters and trying to educate me would just take time on your part, and I guarantee you that you can better use that time.

A dataset is what you define it to be. No more. No less.
