I have been working on a map of the Near East for a bit now and have finally completed it. Only a few minor things left to do such as placing mines, oil wells and factories. I have not decided on whether or not to post this on the scenario depot or not. I will though if anyone is interested in the map and the flags for each regime you can send me a private message and i will email them to you and you can do with them what you like. The map scale 50 Km per hex or 30 miles, this was taken from one of my TOAW III maps.....

I have posted a few images for everyone to take a look at....

I've decided that since my Indochina scenario was a flop, that this map will not be made available on the scenario depot website, but if anyone is interested in this map and regime flags then just send me a PM or email and I will be more than happy to send it to you. As always though this could change at a later date if there seems to be an interest in this area...

looking good. why was Indochina a flop? isn't the scenario depot the best way to publish your work?

Thanks Keunert, apprecitate that. In my opinion the Indochina scenario just did not seem to take off with anyone and so just did not feel like putting a whole lot of time into it if no one really wanted to play it. As it stands now it is fine for me to play but I had a lot of ideas for it just was not able to add those things into it due to lack of knowledge in event programming.

I will post somemore screenshots soon hopefully this weekend of units and their images for everyone to see. I will hve two versions of this, one with units and such that can be played without anymore work being done and one which has just the map and regime flags....

Hi Lion

I dont think you should be discouraged by the lack of responses on the forum. I believe (know) that people download and play much more than is shown on the forum.

I sometimes make scenarios that i know almost no one will want to play but me, but half the fun is making the scenario right. Obvisously its always gratifying when people appreciaty your work.

I have always found your projects very interesting. You have a definite niche as one of the few people who make modern day scenarios. But if i can give you one tip. You could consider placing less units on the maps. Sometimes there are so many units that the scenario becomes unwieldy and less playable. This is off course very much my own opinion and preference, but think about it.

Screenshot to make my point.

Thanks Grymme, I truly appreciate that coming from you. Your right on the amount of units on the map, sometimes I get carried away. This time I'm going to stick with the OOB's from each nation hopefully that will not cause an ungodly amount of units on the map. The only problem regarding this is from " The Islamic States" which comprise Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan, the good thing though is since this nation is huge the only oob I'll more than likely use is Iran since this is the portion which is on the map the most.

Israel has about 20 armoured Brigades, 9 Mechanized Brigades, 5 Airborne Brigades ( some being airmobile). I think 9 Infantry Brigades and several artillery Brigades, will have to look at the OOB again. So Israel will have at least this. I replaced Jordan and made it Palestine. Now their OOB will not be like the Jordanian army but smaller and maybe a Tank Brigade. Like Armenia they have a small army, where Turkey being now since their modernization has a majority mechanized army, but since this scenario will take place after 1967 Six Day war don't know yet what I will do. The Israeli units will not be the art work that came with ATG but will be images I have found from the Six Day war. Though on upgrade IV for the Israeli Infantry that will be a modern image. Level I Israeli tanks will show a image of a Super-Sherman tank up until level III which then it will be an image of a Israeli M-60 tank. The rest of the regimes will for now use the new ATG unit artwork since I cannot find any images that are good enough for my tastes. Again Grymme thanks for the input and anymore pointers will be appreciated....

I now have two versions of this scenario. the first one is the map with regime flags and the SFT's are finished but no units on the map.  This version will be sent to those who are interested and then make whatever changes you want. Maybe even possibly uploaded to the scenario site.  The second one is the one with the new screenshots and one that I'm going to have some detail ( event programming) added into so this one will eventually be loaded onto the scenario site for sure, see I changed my mind.....

it started out to be a semi-modern one, but took a turn to major hypothetical. It takes place after the Six Day war with several major upheavals and changes, so around 1969-70. Jordan has now become Palestine ( large Palestinian population was victorious in the Black September revolt which takes place earlier than historically happened. ( which historically the King of Jordan was able to put down pretty much on the scale that we are seeing in Syria today). For the Israeli's they embark on " Greater Israel" from the Nile to the Euphrates rivers to end once and for the Arab/Israeli war. Doing this can have sorts of unexpected issues and consequences.....

I guess you can say this is a updated version of " Rise of Babylon" which I was working on for the AT, but stopped since ATG came out. Down the road I want the Israeli's to be able to upgrade units to modern day which we see today, but for now the latest tank the Israeli's can get is the M-60 MBT. The same plan goes for the Arabs as well.
