I've been enjoying the game immensely lately and felt like doing a patch wishlist
for things that I would like to see added in a patch.

Remember this list is completely fictitious.

Patch Notes 1.5.1.0

OPTIONS:
-Added option to disable planet orbital ring graphics
-Added option to disable gas cloud graphics for improved performance, they are still mineable
-Added option to disable the shape outlines of ships (triangles, squares, etc)

OPTIMIZATION:
-Better performance when zooming in and out of systems
-Better performance near large objects
-Better performance when zoomed out over large galaxies
-Better performance when large number of objects on-screen
-Improved smoothness of ships when turning (less jumpy appearance)

MINOR ADJUSTMENTS:
-Colony ship build time increased 25%
-Missile/Torpedo fire rate decreased 75%, damage increased 75%
-Increased some civilian structures shields by an additional 200% (mining bases, etc)
-Increased pirate station shields by 300%
-When sending a colony ship is suggested, the price is now displayed
-When asked to build structures, the maintenance cost is now shown
-Planetary numbers are now displayed as roman numerals (Gimenur IV)

ADDITIONAL GAME CUSTOMIZATION:
-New Galaxy Size: Gigantic (2000 systems)
-New game option: Evenly Spread Empires; game will attempt to spread empires out as evenly as possible
-New game option: Lock editor, prevents the editor from being used during the following game

BUG FIXES:
-There will be less chance that similar colors will be chosen for multiple AI empires upon galaxy creation, (brown and dark-brown etc)
-Lengthened colored panel at the bottom of the screen when hovering over objects so text won't protrude outside panel
-On occasion money was being lost when cash flow was positive; (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2415085)(Post 7)
-Player was able to zoom closer than intended using zoom-in button on mini-map
-Zoom-in and zoom-out speed are uniform to each other regardless of the slider level (previously the more you increased the slider the faster the zoom-in speed was, but the zoom-out speed didn't scale with it)
-Adviser will no longer suggest free trade agreement with Ancient Guardians when trade suggestions are turned on
-AI Empires will no longer have lowered relations with you when they colonize too closely to your empire, but only if you colonize near them
-When setting the maximum frame rate in the options it now holds at the specified frame rate instead of alternating between slowing down and speeding up

ANIMATION IMPROVEMENTS:
-Bases built around planets now appear at random rotations for more variety
-Orbital Defense Platforms built around planets now orbit, similarly to moons
-Added death animation for biological enemies, (space slugs, etc)
-Added explosion animation for missile impacts



Those are the main ones I have, may think of more later.
I'm trying to keep to things the game really needs or should have and avoid personal taste.

-Added slider for global engine speed
-Added slider for global warp speed
-Added slider for global warp charge up time
-Added slider for global fuel consumption
-Added slider for global energy consumption
-Added slider for global construction speed
-Added support for larger maps
-Added slider for map size

Patchnotes 1.5.3.0
-Magically added hardware graphics support.

One can dream.

Not sure if you did it already but we do have a wishlist thread also that is monitored by Elliot (the developer) and Matrix so you should post this there as well for more visibility. A link to this thread should be enough.

I agree with most of the options here. Not sure a 2000 star galaxy is needed. The 1400 star galaxy would be much better if the physical map dimensions were larger so the stars were spread out farther from each other.

I agree that the 2000 system galaxy isn't really needed all that much but I thought if they optimized
large galaxies it might be nice for even more epic games.
But the 1400 galaxy is really nice as it is.
