Status: offline 		I know - getting old - but I find the counters a bit too small on all the maps to be able to read and see the info. They were bigger in Highway to the Reich I'm positive. Is there a button or something to just magnify them a bit??

Status: offline 		I don't think the size has changed since HTTR.

Have you tried running the game from a different screen resolution?

Status: offline 		It may be that you now have a monitor with a higher dot pitch than the one you had previously. I know, because my new laptop has a 15.6" screen but runs in HD and the unit icons are small. To address this you need to choose a different screen resolution like Richard suggests.

I used to play HTTR in 800x600 which isn't available in BFTB. In 1024x768 the HTTR counters still seem slightly bigger but that's measured against my fingernail (!) so I think you have nailed my problem.
