hi, ggwaw is the game that got me into playing matrix games and based on the screen shots; this game looks rather similar. for those that have played both, what would you say?

Lot of similarities in terms of interface and basic mechanics.

GGWBTS has simpler mechanics in regard to economy, production, diplomacy which is just as it should be in what it is representing. It does however have fairly extensive leader and division / corp / army command and formation mechanics, nothing too complex but something that is different from GGWAWAWD again in keeping with what it is representing.

If you like WAW I think you will like and easily get into WBTS. Not the most detailed of the ACW games out there but fun, realistic enough and the one I play most of when I get the chance.
