Just a quick observation here. Have you ever seen a five year old standing in the room with his fingers in his ears shouting "I'm not listening to you, I'm not listening to you, I'm not listening to you"?

Well have you?

Have you ever thrown away a piece of junk mail - unopened?

Touche Don

However in thinking, my SPAM folder does allow me to review such emails for those that may have informational content.

Yes. I have a seven year old and a four year old. And I know all about fingers in ears things. I also konw about lying. Is there something about lying that you want to talk about? My children do not ever lie. If they do, I slap them hard and they never do it again. Maybe you should look to yourself. Is there some kind of agenda you want to push? Do not ever mess with me or my children for your little game boy playing fun.

MO.

Is it fun to slap small children hard?

No. It is not fun. And you do not see. And you have no clue.

Hey dude, lying is not necessarily a corporal punishment sin, AND IF YOU DO NOT SEE THEN YOU HAVE NO CLUE!!

All right. MO will shut up then. I have asked him and some others who have some serious dificulties with this Cid person, to back off.

Thank you JWE I appreciate your intervention. I hadn't realized that Osterhaut was Mo your co worker on DaBabes.
I will back off also. Didn't mean to be such a dickhead but the whole disrespect thing really rials me.

And i am tired of all you euro nazis and wish you you would all just go away or shoot yourselves or at least do something useful with your useless little PC lives. Leave us alone.

Hmm, while I certainly don't agree with el cid's manner of posting or many of his contentions I do find it concerning that members of the design team seem to get carte Blanche to breach the forum's rules of posting.

Labelling a bunch of posters as euro nazis and telling them to shoot themselves is clearly personal and abusive... Yet since this individual is a member of the design team it is fine? When double standards like this are allowed it makes it less likely others who were willing to give the benefit of the doubt will continue to do so.

There is a situation developing where design team members are, apparently, allowed to engage in abusive, bullying behaviour with impunity. Yes, I understand you may be frustrated at some of the needless criticism you get. However, behaving like bullies yourselves isn't a solution to that problem. It merely robs you of the support of those who would stand beside you but cannot do so while hypocritical double standards are being applied.

I think the team has done great work. Do I agree with everything? No. Am I afraid of pointing out issues in the tech issues thread because of the abuse you get from the design team ( without an apology even when the bug is later acknowledged and fixed)? Yes. Have others told me they feel the same? Yes. If the design team's primary focus is to blow off steam and bully then fine. If it is, as I believe it is, to make the game better then this sort of counterproductive behaviour needs to be limited. We all lose our cool sometimes but this sort of racist abuse simply shouldnt be tolerated.

I'm a European who had relatives killed by the nazis and I ( and I'm sure others are in the same boat) view the label of "euro-nazi" as being extremely offensive. It'd be like me labelling every White American a slave-owning, black-raping murderer simply because I disliked what one American said now and because in the past some Americans who owned slaves engaged in that sort of thing. Clearly that would be preposterous ( and a breach of forum rules) just as osterhaut's post is.

I wish to make clear that, of course, allowance must be made for frayed tempers but recently things have been said without provocation and without apology which really call into question the impartiality and effectiveness of the moderation/ control of PR within the design team.

In the long run that will harm the game's further development as people who aren't in the design team but have useful things to contribute decide to leave/detach in the face of attacks/bullying by members of the design team. That would be a pity for the game... Ad is my motivation for writing the above.

Darn Buck, it's just like Don says - everybody just shut up. All of us, everybody, just shut up. If we just shut up the only ones left are the weasels. Then there's nothing left, no disrespect, nothing but the weasels. So let's all just shut up. ok?
