There is a scenario named Ruweisat Ridge.

When the scenario starts the Axis can defend in some wadis.

After a few turns the wadis disappear.

Sounds good to me. You play Axis, and I will take the Allies, and I get LOTS of artillery.

I've seen the same thing on the map ... strange. The map definitely has wadis marked up on it. Wonder if it's a hexside terrain bug?

I played this Egyptian scenario long ago and don't remember that issue, but looks like you did spot something interesting. I'll have a look myself, as I really don't think artillery bombardments/weather are supposed to erode Wadi's so fast.

Would also look forward to a 1vs 1 here while we examine it.

I have a couple PBEMs in progress now going on in this scenario. Interesting, I can see where they are removed. However, when fine-tuning strategy vs the AI, or using hot-seat, they remain as expected. At least, so far it seems to be just correlated with PBEM.

Issue is forwarded up the command chain...
