Just got the game - this seems like a dumb question but I couldn't find the answer in the manual.

For random games, how do I select the regime I want to play (e.g. German, Russian etc)? I can change the AI level but not it seems the regime which are randomly assigned.

I believe it's in the order of play also, i picked the last civ on the list on a small map with 3 ai's and by the time my turn came i was in deep trouble.

There is no easy way to make a game with a specific regimes.

Click "edit". In editor click "reg". Here you can edit the regimes. Flags are in graphics/at2 folder but you have to switch explorer to png format (default is bmp) and switch view to miniatures.
But it is not the end of the work. You have to change population in cities. Switch between "map" and hex" view.
You can also change the nationality of units on the map. Click hex on map and switch to "units" wiew.

It's unfortunate that this can't be easily selected before generating the scenario.

Thanks for the answer. Maybe in an update this could be added - it wouldn't seem too hard. Most games of this type allow one to pick who to play as and against (germans vs. russians etc.).

A definite +1
It would allow a fast and easy random game on the battleground of your choosing, say Brits versus Afrika Korps in North Africa, or Germans versus Russians, etc.
