Is there any way to play this game on a Mac without having to run Windows?

I want to play against a friend who has a Mac.

Thanks!

People have run AE successfully on Mac using BootCamp, Parallels or VMWare Fusion. Latter 2 are not free programs. But I don't think you can run it directly on Mac without help these.

Thanks for the reply.

I looked up Parallels and Fusion and it seems both of them require a Windows installation (and a Windows licence), as Bootcamp does. From your reply then I take it that it is not possible to run the program without installing Windows in some way first. Not a surprise really, but I thought it was worth asking.

Thanks.

You have to run Windows in some form. You can virtualise it.

No. There are a number of ways to run Windows on a Mac in a virtual environment.

You can also try Wine.

Thanks herwin and Sardaukar. Impersonator is built on Wine, and it might be the better solution as it looks like it might be simpler for my non-technical friend. Problem is, I don't know if WitP:AE will run on Impersonator as not all games do I believe: although there is a Impersonator demo there isn't one for the game. Hopefully someone will have some first hand experience.
