I want sure how much interest there would be in the allied version.

I suspect some of the early attacks will be a lot toughter in the Allied Ironman scen

I thought about adding a few more surprises but this was pretty nasty as was

If anyone actually plays it let me know if the allies had to much

Too much?  No, but you REALLY have to be on your toes.  Especially the first 10 or 20 times through!

Seriously, I haven't got that far yet.  RL limits my game time in a big way.  But then, it allows me to consider my moves maybe a bit more.  Biggest thing I will tell people about it, without ruining the surprise is anything you invade, you better bring the hammer as IJ.  The allies are riled, agile and hostile.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying.  Make for a challenging AI game.

When setting up this Iron man scenario what settings are best used for the most bang for the buck Andy!

Assume playing as Japan historic 1st turn 2 days per turn and at most hard difficulty level.

(you can maybe knoco it up to very hard 2 turns a month)

No I'm interested in playing as Allies for now to see the new scripts you made. Just paste them into the scenarios folder right?

Well this scenario is not designed in any way for an allied player there are many AI cheats on the allied side built in.

De facto this is an Allied AI only scenario

If you want to play v the jap Ai then use scen 10 which is the Japanese Ironman

Ha!! What a sense of humor!!

Hard? I'm having all I take at normal. Hard? And VERY HARD a couple of days/month? Which days do I want to get really kicked?

Seriously, maybe after February or March 42 you will need to take the difficulty level up to Hard. Definitely move it up before you enter North Burma. During the early going, I have found it to be plenty challenging on normal.

It's a lot different than the normal GC. You can't really use it as a tune up because it is different. OTOH, it does get you out of being complacent because Andy has got so many little #@%@%#@ AI surprises. In that respect, it does keep you on your toes like a PBEM game would. Since I can't get my RL squared away for a PBEM GC, this is as close as I will get for a while. I do manage to squeeze in the odd PBEM scenario on a weekend at least.

Again, kudos and thanks to Andy.

While I was transitioning between PCs I started an Ironman (non-historical start) to see what it looked like. Force Z survived the first day, and then on Day 3 imagine my surprise when it ran into a IJN surface group near Malaysia that included the early-available Yamato! An epic surface engagement ensued wherein I lost the Repulse, but the POW hammered the Yamato to the bottom of the sea, escaping with 25 system damage and some engine as well. Probably the best surface engagement I've ever seen in AE. POW's rate of fire was breathtaking, and the number of Long Lances fired and missed was also an edge-of-the-seater. I was quite pleased with myself.

Then on Day 4 the KB, retiring in a direction I never imagined, found and sank both Enterprise and Lex far, far to the south of PH.

Now, with my new PC, I see no reason to continue this game. Nope. None at all.

Excellent job, Andy, at least for the first week of play. I highly recco Ironman to AI players looking for a new experience.

I played the IronMan through to the end with the last official update.  The scenaroi description says that is should end Mar 31, 1946 but I was able to play until May 28, 1946.  Is this correct?
