I just found out that the Star Trek: Voyager renegades Maquis are sharing the same name as French Resistance.

Yup! But the French Resistance didn't have Phasers and a leader named Eddington
pursued doggedly by a Captain Sisko.

But the French Resistance had gorgeous looking babes with sexy accents.

That storyline actually started in Star Trek The Bland, I mean, NEXT Generation (and yes they were a tribute to the French Resistance).
