Status: offline 		Was looking through some of my junk-mail, seems Paradox has a 70% on Kings Crusade + exp.

I don't have much time for things even if I wanted to, though it does not appear TOO BAD from what I see.

Bugs is another story though...(maybe)

Status: offline 		I'm mulling over that one too, at the price. Just not sure I would actually play it ahead of King Arthur as it seems to be pretty much the same game in a different skin.

Status: offline 		Totally different to King Arthur, as well as to other Pdox titles. The focus of Crusader Kings is on dynasty building, expanding territory by lieges, and it also has a light roleplay aspect with stats and events. However, common 4x mechanics play a subordinated role in CK.

This is one of the games one can either love or hate, there is not much inbetween.

I was confused with the thread title, initially.

It's a great game in that the strategy focuses more on your dynasty, though there is still the usual warfare.  In this sense, it feels like it has role-playing elements as you're not just some infallible entity ruling a nation alone, but playing the part of the ruler himself.  

So, yes, it's a good (and somewhat innovative) strategy game.  

I imagine they're selling the CK-Deus Ex bundle for practically nothing because they are working on the sequel, and the pricing is sure to drum up more fans for the sequel, who had never played it.

Note that you can run it in modern widescreen resolution with a simple text edit, IIRC, so your eyes will not be crossed and squinting.  Get the Deus Ex expansion with it as the interface is a bit short on extra features and, as I understand it, the expansion helped with that a bit.

Status: offline 		Oops..We seem to be thinking of a different game than the OP. There is a game out from paradox that is called King's Crusade. Its a crusades RTS pile of bugginess......Lots of crashes....some peeps cant get the 1st mission done without using cheat codes...etc etc....

It looks interesting enough if it worked

EDIT: Seems the patch did wonders for the crashes...for what thats worth

Status: offline 		Indeed, a different game. Titles are so unoriginal nowadays. And I wouldn't purchase it, looks worse than MTW 2.

Regarding GG, they also lump out AvP for 7 bucks. Was solely distributed by Steam last year and not available in Germany for censorship issues, as we only get "low violence" versions here. One of the reasons why I hate Steam. Considering to grab this one.

It's actually better than just a clone but the bugs have pretty much killed it...From what i'm hearing the latest patch helped , but.......
