I don't really understand how this works...Looking at the SUPPLY DETAILS screen for a unit the HEX TO RAIL puzzels me...
Sometimes i think i got it...the HEX TO RAIL has the same number as the distance to the closest fixed railhex conected to
the supplygrid but other times it is not the same ??

I can have an infantry division 1 hex away from a GREEN railhex that is connected to the supplygrid and have no enemy unit
close by but the HEX TO RAIL still says that that unit is 3 hexes away...What am i missing ?

I think it's counting MPs not hexes.

1st supply phase happens prior the rail repair, so it can get smaller on the 2nd phase or after logistic phase.

That would make sence...But...In one test i did both the unit (inf.div) and the railhex where in CLEAR hexes adjacent to eachother.
MP cost to move the inf.div to the railhex was 1 MP and the supplydetail screen still showed:

HEX TO RAIL 3
MP TO RAIL 3

Are they shown as current distances?

You give very little details, so I can just guess.

SORRY !!

I missed that further down that rail line there where an enemy unit adjacent to the railhex...That unit must have cut that part of the grid of going to my unit..
Missed that...

Thanks for your help

I had that unit removed...Now it shows:
