Hi-v106i, 3/43. Allies, scen. 9. ...that some ASW TFs attack with 4 ships on one turn, then 3 ships on the next, when no ships in the TF have been sunk, etc.?

Thanks, Hugh Browne

It's only the ships that are figured to have made contact with the sub AFAIK.

Rarely more than 2 ships are able to drop their depth charges. No matter, how big Task Force is. Probably because of spread on surface during searching.

Could also be that a ship has run out of DCs.
Early war there was not many reloads of DCs on the ships (around 4-8), so in a single turn of a long ASW attack, the whole load of DCs can be used up. Check the individual ship screens to see the ammo remaining after an ASW attack. Whilst the TF screen might show 66% ASW ammo remaining for example, that would equate to one ship having no DCs and another with a partial load.
