I've read about sub damage from applying database changes to an existing game. I also know about the Tojo engine issue but my current PBEM is so new that won't be an issue as I haven't set up production for oodles of the wrong device.

Is the sub stuff bad enough to hold off on the DB changes? If we patch up without them, can we later opt for the DB changes if subs are fixed? Are there other gotchas to accepting the DB changes we should know about?

recommendation is to apply the patch ... but not apply the scenario data changes to on-going games.

This will give you the benefits of the code changes ... without the SNAFU of the in game data updates.
