retro counter view in 3d mod

Post by MausMan2 »

Guys,

Saw a thread on making custom counter-like units for use on the 3d view. Well here's yet another graphics mod I'll share with you all. I moded my terrain for the 2nd level 3d only. originally wanted to change terrain to scale more like it should look in a 250m area of land. I also liked the old profile look of the counters. Never did get every unit and every terrain changed. some day will finish it. here's some shots of waht my game looks like....

Good effort on your part.

Not my cup of tea, but certainly a good effort.

That's some cool stuff you've done! Looks and feels like a completely new game :)

I was wondering about a possibility for Panzerblitz / Panzer Leader look&feel for 2D view on another forum, but the way to experiment with this would be to try it with 3D view instead ...

The terrain looks beautiful. How can I get the mod for that?

Neither look like the Campaign Series.
Simply lifts from other games gone by? [>:]

To me it looks great. The counters should have more definition but the concept is great.

Why? because if it is intended for a small 3d view level it can help differentiating units. Something like the small 2d view but in small 3d.

Someone has put the example of panzer corps in images; Well:

Panzer corps, for example, uses a different more stylized map view apart the normal one because the zoom out view is too small to differentiate the units.

The use of some kind of counters in small 3d views would have sense, for sure...

Greetings.

I like the idea of this mod...wish I could download it. For the scale it is designed for I would find it helpful.

(the only thing that "looks to bad" IMO is that God awful huge animated .sig a few posts up).
Kind Regards,

Bloody awful. [>:]
That is for both the "look" of the Frankensteins monster "mod" that makes CS look like a horrible knock off of TOAW combined with Panzer General, and the self aggrandizing sig line above. [8|]

I guess I half agree? [;)]

I thought of doing this years ago(pics of terrain), but just never got around to it!! Would be pretty cool, though.
