I have 2 TF's that are both composed of LCT's, and each has an infantry unit aboard. They were created as Amphibious TF's. I have moved them to an enemy owned but unoccupied island.

Bizzarly, they have both changed to Barge type TF's, and neither one will unload (there is no 'unload' option).

I figure maybe something got messed up, let me see if I can create a new TF with those ships. Select New TF, Amphibious, and then none of the LCT's are eligible to be added to the Amphibious TF.

Does anybody have any idea what might be going on? Most appreciated if you do.

Look at Ocean Island (west of the Gilberts) in the attached save game.

Here is the save just before ending the previous turn. It seems the TF's have both already changed to Barge, and are not allowed to change back to Amphibious. Why?

LCTs aren't supposed to be allowed in an amphib TF. I assume you're sure it didn't start as a transport TF?

You could try changing to TF type "landing craft", but my *guess* is that you have a transport-loaded LCU, not an amphib loaded LCU. If you look at the LCU, does it show combat or strat mode?

Not sure how it let you put an LCT in an amhib, but generally you want to start LCTs in a landing craft TF.

OK, when I say "Amphib" I would be equally happy with "Landing Craft". 100% certain the guys are loaded in combat mode, so there's no way they started as Transport TF's.

Also 100% certain that (way back when) they were created as Landing Craft, because I don't think I have ever created one as Barge. I have seen the game change things to what it feels is best even when it screws you up, which I am thinking must be the case here.

When looking to change the TF mission, it is allowing Transport, Escort, and Barge. That's it.
