.... is available at Amazon for $52 as a pre-order.

I don't get HBO, so I've not seen it. Is it worth buying? I'd hate to spend the full price later ($80) for it.

I saw it, taped it to DVD while watching it and already ordered series from Amazon for my birthday, so I guess you could say I enjoyed it.

I think it's worth buying, BJ. Full disclosure: there are others on this board that watched part or all of the series and thought it a lesser product than BoB. I thought it was a *different* product than BoB, but still well done and worthwhile.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to pre-order it for myself and my dad as a Christmas present. Cause nothing says Santa like graphic depictions of machine gunning one's fellow man...

I think the Pacific was different, but done in good taste and is worth getting. You won't see Ben Affleck or modern warships, however the series just seem far different then Band of Brothers, meaning I watched it all and was like "thats it?".

If you don't want to buy it, you can get Netflix and watch it that way.  That's how we watch all the HBO series.

It's worth the 50 bucks but I wouldn't pay 80 for it. You'll love some episodes and others not so much.
