Ok I can walk with out a cane now. That does not mean they are any less evil.

Boy I remember those days. Electric shocks to contract and relax the muscles. PT - Pain and Torture; OT - Other Torture.

I fell 28 feet from a building many years ago. Shattered hip and crushed elbow. I proved one thing that day. This is one Czech that doesn't bounce.

especially for this guy.....

A celebrity chef with his own television show was in to have a tattoo removed the hard way. Seems the tattooist’s hand had slipped at just the wrong moment while inking an ancient Chinese phrase, turning a simple invocation for good luck into an open invoc...ation for really bad luck. As a result, the chef’s famous West End restaurant had burned down during an outbreak of food poisoning. He’d had explosive diarrhea during his live show, all his best recipes had turned up on the Net, and he’d been struck by lightning seventeen times. In his own kitchen. You don’t shift a tattoo like that...

- Exerpt from The Man with the Golden Torc by Simon R Green.

I love Green......best wisecracking sci-fi/fantasy author ever.

Thx to all brother Theadsters for your posts of support regarding Chennelle.

She was dumber than a box of rocks.....but she had a heart bigger than Einstein's IQ.

I miss her. I'm sure Spike does too.

Since September 11, 2001, Americans have come together as never before in our generation. We have banded together to overcome adversity. We have weathered direct attacks on our own soil, wars overseas, corporate/government scandal, layoffs, unemployment, stock price plunges, droughts, fires, mad cow, SARS, high gasoline prices, and a myriad of economic and physical disasters both great and small. But now, we must come together once again to overcome our greatest challenge yet.

Hundreds of NFL Professional Football players in our very own nation are going to be locked out, living at well below the seven-figure salary level. And as if that weren't bad enough they could be deprived of their life giving pay for several months, possibly longer, as a result of the upcoming lockout situation. But you can help!

For only $27,080 a month, about $902.75 a day (that's less than the cost of a large screen projection TV) you can help an NFL player remain economically viable during his time of need. This contribution by no means solves the problem as it barely covers the annual minimum salary, but it's a start, and every little bit will help!

Although $900 may not seem like a lot of money to you, to a football player it could mean the difference between spending the lockout golfing in Florida or on a Mediterranean cruise. For you, nine hundred dollars is nothing more than a month's rent, a mortgage payment, or a month of medical insurance, but to a football player, $900 will partially replace his daily salary.

Your commitment of less than $900 a day will enable a player to buy that home entertainment center, trade in the year-old Lexus for a new Ferrari, or enjoy a weekend in Rio .

HOW WILL I KNOW I'M HELPING?

Each month, you will receive a complete financial report on the player you sponsor. Detailed information about his stocks, bonds, 401(k), real estate, and other investment holdings will be mailed to your home. Plus, upon signing up for this program, you will receive an unsigned photo of the player lounging during the lockout on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean (for a signed photo, please include an additional $150). Put the photo on your refrigerator to remind you of other peoples' suffering.

HOW WILL HE KNOW I'M HELPING?

Your NFL player will be told that he has a SPECIAL FRIEND who just wants to help in a time of need. Although the player won't know your name, he will be able to make collect calls to your home via a special operator in case additional funds are needed for unforeseen expenses.

Remember, a lifestyle is a horrible thing to waste...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
YES, I WANT TO HELP!

I would like to sponsor a locked out NFL player. My preference is (check below):

[ ] Offense [ ] Defense [ ] Special Teams [ ] Entire team

Please charge the account listed below $902.75 per day for the duration of the lockout. Please send me a picture of the player and my very own Roger Goodell (NFL Commissioner) pin to wear proudly on my hat (include $80 for hat).

Your Name: ____________________Telephone Number: ___________________

Account Number: __________________Exp.Date:_______

[ ] MasterCard [ ] Visa [ ] American Express [ ] Other

Signature: _______________________

Alternate card (when the primary card exceeds its credit limit): Account Number: _______________________ Exp.Date:_______

Signature: ______________________

p.s. If you have a little extra, please enclose for the cheerleaders. Contrary to public opinion, cheerleaders are people too

Good morning - Tithe.

Good morning, THREAD dude. How's the new job treating you?

It's going well so far, thanks! Still in the "getting familiar" stage, but starting to get a fuzzy picture of just what happens around here.

(It also doesn't hurt that they just came through and replaced everyone's tiny 17 inch CRT's with 23 inch Samsung flat screens )

Morning tithe... Hi Mike, good to hear your jobs going well. Bit of a 'bummer' about the new flat screens though.

Hi all,

Thus far the best video from "Il-2 Sturmovik - CLiffs of Dover"!

"Battle of Britain - The Day Before Adlertag"

By Barfly

http://vimeo.com/26199820

All graphics are in game except:

- camera shake when airplanes pass by
- close ups of pilots in the aircraft - the authors did that with additional 3D rendering

Nope... the videos are missleading... unfortunately...

The in game video recorder (here used) will always save frames regardless of the framerate. Thus, for example, in initial scene where there are many German Ju-88 bombers and it is all fluid in video the actual PC can be crawling and stuttering (and have actual in game FPS in low 10s)...

The videos made with in game video recorders will always be fatalistic and fluid - actual gameplay will still suffer unless the PC in question is really really expensive and hugely powerful (4 or 8 cores, 4+ GB RAM and at least 1.5 GB RAM on fastest possible graphics card)!

In other news, today's combat lesson from Rise of Flight: don't do head-on passes. Your planes are so fragile that two or three bullets will be enough to finish you. Just happened to me a few minutes ago. Damn Fokker Scourge!

Here's me in my Nieuport a few moments before a Fokker Eindecker put three bullets into my cockpit and killed me. Note the transition from green fields to blasted, muddy No Man's Land. Nice touch, IMHO...

You've been buying planes now? Or is it just one plane for humans and the computer can get any type?
