Patrick If by "accurate" you mean reflecting the overall quality and size of the two forces, I'd say yes, since obviously a person with an inferior force who knows the game quite well might whip the AI, or a newbie who doesn't know what he's doing might get trounced despite having the superior force. (I guess a way to think of it is that Quick Combat lets you be Lincoln or Davis, raising armies and appointing generals and sending them into the field without being able to impact the outcome of a battle, while Detailed Combat is for being a Lee or Grant.)
