Would it be possible to modify the in-game size of planets.

I realize the scale isn't meant to be proportional or anything, but the size of the ships / bases as it currently stands next to planets just looks really odd and is throwing me off a lot. Or perhaps one additional zoom in level can be added and a modification to reduce the size of the ships / bases? Probably the better solution so that planets don't start butting up against each other.

I am usually not that bothered by graphical issues, but this one is just really bothering me for some reason...and I don't mean for it to be changed by default (although I would like it to) as I am sure there is a good reason the dev's chose the sizes they did.

And a side question, since I am here, is there a way to modify how / where ships jump into a system. It seems weird that they can jump right on top of a planet. I thought it would be more cool if when jumping system to system you jump in on the edge of a system and have to travel to the planet in system. That would give the system owner a chance to rally a defense / keep the fighting away from the planet a little and make the attacker work his way in.

I havent' gotten the game yet, but plan to either tonight or after the update on the 19th.

Not possible, like ships.. the planets get scaled to a certain class, normal planets/moon have a max size of 400, gas giants have size 1000. You can edit those sizes in the ingame editor but you can't go above those numbers. It's also not moddable as far as I know.

Edit: Just tried it out with an escort and frigate over a max size planet and gas giant, It doesnt look that bad.

but does this increased size equal a bigger pop cap for say a continental planet?

and...what about sizing down the images of ships/stations

Cant size down ships or stations either. The engine autosizes them based on components no matter what you do.
